NUNGWI BARAKA AQUARIUM

The Nungwi Baraka Aquarium is a popular tourist attraction located in Nungwi Village on the North Coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. It offers visitors the opportunity to admire vibrant coral reefs and sea turtles in a natural setting. The aquarium is home to over 500 marine species found in the Indian Ocean. The Baraka Turtle Aquarium serves as a rehabilitation center for injured turtles. Visitors can explore the cave where injured turtles are cared for. The sanctuary also houses healthy turtles and provides an opportunity for visitors to swim with and feed them.

Duration: The tour typically lasts for 60 minutes

Group Size: Minimum group size is 1 person, with a maximum of 50 people.

Guides: Knowledgeable guides lead the tours

Children: Children aged 2 years and above can participate

What to Bring: Participants are advised to bring swimwear, towels, water-resistant shoes for walking on coral, cameras, and a water-resistant bag

Apart from visiting the aquarium, tourists can also explore other attractions in Nungwi such as the Fish Market Center, traditional fishing villages like Marahubi and Mvuleni, sandy beaches for swimming in turquoise waters, and enjoying local cuisine at cafes and restaurants
